Alocasia macrorrhiza

£230.00

One of the largest variety of Alocasia, it is often called the Giant Taro or Upright Elephant Ear due to the immense upright leaves. A native of rainforest’s in Southeast Asia, New Guinea and Northeast Australia. Macrorrhiza can grow up to 2 metres tall indoors, making it an impressive plant to add to your collection. The more established plants have woody ‘trunks’ adding contrast to the lime green stems and large arrowhead shaped leaves. As an undergrowth plant of rainforests, this plant will do best with bright indirect light but can also be happy with medium light as well. Do not allow the soil to dry out completely but pay attention not to allow it to stand in water. Water once the top 5cm of soil has dried out and use a well draining soil with a good amount of organic compost.

  • Number of root stems may vary from photo
